なるほど、私たちの社会が自らの抱えるリスクを“制服を着る職業”に負わせている――必ずしも厚遇とは言えない水準の報酬と引き換えに――という側面があるのは確かでしょう。だからこそ、私たちは「制服」を着た人々が法的・倫理的に問題のある任務を負わされないよう、例えばありもしない大量破壊兵器を口実とした戦争に駆り出されないよう監視する義務があるはずです。
